The In(famous) Youssef Salem

Synopsis

Youssef Salem, a 45-year-old Maghrebi novelist, has spent years failing to make his writing career take off. When his latest book suddenly becomes a success, the attention brings a problem he did not plan for: the story draws a little too closely from his own family. As praise grows, Youssef tries to keep the novel out of their hands and manage the uneasy price of recognition.
