As We Speak: Rap Music on Trial

Synopsis

Bronx rap artist Kemba examines the growing weaponization of rap lyrics in criminal cases, both within the United States justice system and abroad. The film focuses on how law enforcement has quietly treated artistic creation as evidence for decades, raising questions about expression, policing, and the way rap music is viewed in court.
